A Round is a set number of arrows shot at set distances, different rounds
exist for Imperial and metric
outdoor, and indoor.
Generally arrows are shot in
sixes, as two sets of three, that is step up to the line shoot three, step back as your
partner has a turn, step up for the next three, step back as your partner has
their next
turn, then fetch. On club nights it's often quicker to shoot all 6 at a time. Note though
that some rounds have their own special considerations, i.e. the Worcester is shot in fives,
Indoor FITA can be shot at either 10 zone or 5 zone targets...
The following tables show
the rounds commonly shot by Kestrels (some more often than others!), showing how many
dozen arrows must be shot at each distance, rounds with more than one distance are shot
in the order shown, i.e. in ever decreasing distances. |
